.................................................--- It's a Roller!!! ---

..........................

The 4 bars are about 36" center to center to keep the travel arc long. This will keep the slip joint quiet. Moving in and out very little as the suspension works. The panhard bar is not as long as I would like to have it but the frame is only 24" wide and I am going to keep everything inside the body, that I can.

...........................

The shocks are new and the springs are old . I was going to use them on the Jag rear end that is in my fat fendered pickup. It was built with 4 coilovers and they were too stout for the pickup. Two coilovers were too light so I think they are going to be just right for the lakester. I built in a little adjustment for the shocks.

...........................

The panhard anchor less the tubing brace: The hose clamps are temporary! I cut pieces of 1 5/8" OD tube to glove the 1 3/8" longeron where the panhard bar mount attaches. I used these gloves on the upper coilover mounts also. The panhard bar mount will get a supporting strut added. The cross tube that the coilovers mount to will get two triangular down tubes like each section has in the rear of the car. All of these sections will receive a small gusset to brace the down tubes at the top.

...........................

This shows the typical down tube spread where they connect to the top cross brace. These areas will have an abbreviated triangular gusset weld to connect all three tubes. The wire at the bottom of the picture is the center reference that everything is located by.

................................

It's now a long roller: A symbolic step but still a loooong way to go! It's been two years since I started.

..................................

The 4-bars were made from 1 1/8" X .120 dom tube and 7/8" heavy wall dom tube that was drilled and tapped 5/8-18 LH & RH.

.............................

Each 1 1/8" bar had a LH and RH insert welded in the ends, so it could be adjusted without taking one end off...........
